A Curious owl
A Curious owl
This is a 4B and 6B pencil sketch piece I made of an cute, stylized owl. I used this sketch to practice feather rendering, shading in dense areas and overall, big, bold, adorable eyes!
Light Study
Using a white pencil on black paper, I made this study of rendering using light rather than shadows. I enjoyed drawing up lights against the skin, and adding smaller details such as palm creases and veins. This piece is one of my favorites!

cockatoo scratchboard
cockatoo scratchboard
This piece was a practice of rendering light through clusters of scratches using a black scratchboard and an etching needle! I used clusters and empty negative space to create the rendering, a cockatoo being my model for bold whites!
purple and gold painting
This painting was made with a beautiful mix of purples and golds! I took a picture of the part of the exhibition I wanted to paint, including some pastries, lemons, a mug and folds in fabrics. Using acrylic paints for this piece, I ended up with a bold, bright and uniquely executed artwork, a favorite!
