Istanbul Tourism Website Video
Project overview
In this project, I made a info-touristic website for Istanbul, Turkey. I kept a heavy focus on keeping a cultural and ethnic look to the site while also aiming for a simplistic, modern look to help foreign tourists learn about all parts of the country, from food to architecture!
Mood Study
Mood STUDY
Being from Turkey and living within its culture for many years, I first began my process on starting with what I know Turkey as. The mood is warm, it's full of nightlife, with street cats everywhere! Knowing these as touristic attractions helped me pinpoint better what mood I'm aiming for.
FLOw Chart
Creating a flow chart, I decided on three main pages that branch out into different sectors. History, Cuisine and Culture were the best topics to focus on for a tourist, as it gives them clarity, simplifies it, and puts them in the know of what to expect for their trip to Istanbul.
PERSONA 1: Alessandra
Creating a persona helped me get an understanding of my audiences. Alessandra is a mother to two young children based in Italy (roughly 3 hour flight to Istanbul), so her interests vary depending on her excitable, yet picky family!
Alessandra Rossi Persona 1
Jordan Lee Persona 2
PERSONA 2: Jordan
Jordan is a college student based in the United States (roughly a 12-14 hour flight to travel to Istanbul). And considering the long flight, the vacation will have to be worth it! As a college student, he's interested in nightlife!
Initial Designing & wireframes
Geometric shapes and lace-like design in Middle Eastern deep and soft reds, I began my wireframes with the theme of warm images and enticing colors. I played with the texts bouncing left to right to keep viewers engaged as well!

Final Wire-framing
In this phase of my developing, I'd already gotten my template completely figured out. I made prototypes for buttons, and made three separate rows for each topic being Cuisine, Culture and History—both informative yet efficient!

Final Product
My final product for this project ended with big, bold design that accentuate that beautiful Middle Eastern-esque culture with deep reds, browns, and gold, along with a touch of modern designs to bring in simplicity for the viewer. The website is easy to navigate, and offers information for tourists of any situation; families, college students, or solo travelers!
